![]() Almost every time I visit they have the crummy RF on, because as they cycle through the TV/Video switch they just stop when they see a picture. For what it's worth, when I visit the future in laws they have an S-Video connection from a SA3200 box to their TV as well as RF. It works great because the TV just stays on the Video 1 input. In the bedroom I have a DCT-700 connected to a 27' Toshiba TV with the RCA cables and that's it. In the living room I have a DVR connected with DVI-HDMI cable, and the Cable RF jack on the TV is a straight cable feed so I can check out QAM channels and use picture in picture. Just so others don't get confused and select the wrong input I never connect the RF input from the box to the TV. You don't have to disconnect that, but you can. Then you can turn up the DCT-700's broadcasting volume up a bit, then re-lock the remotes volume controls to work the TV in all modes. If that still doesn't help you might want to look up how to unlock the volume buttons on the remote to work the cable box audio output. If I recall correctly it needs to be on Stereo, High Compression, TV Speakers to be the loudest. Make sure it is set to Stereo and play with the Compression setting. If the box is still too quiet go into the cable box setup and I think there is an option for audio. Then on the TV itself take it off Channel 4 and look for a corresponding Video input mode (Video 1, Video 2, etc.). Red to Red (Right Audio), White to White (Left Audio), Yellow to Yellow (Video). If these cable boxes could generate stereo sound on the Ch 4 output like the older analog boxes 10 years ago, maybe I wouldn't feel so strongly about this. Since there is no Component or S-Video, Composite video and stereo audio is the only way to go. Try to get the signal to the TV in the purest form possible. Light up on the remote when you press the cable box power button? Hd channels with a regular comcast motorola dct700 box, if so how? Hacking motorola dct700/US Cable boxes - Arris DCT6200 DTV Receiver question. How to reset a Motorola DCT700 Cable Box.? Can someone tell me how to reset a Motorola DCT700/US Digital Cable box. Plus the RF out can pick up additional graininess in the video between the box converting to RF, the cable, then your TV's tuner converting it back to video. Otherwise what's the point in paying so much money a month for cable and not get stereo sound? Believe me, I can tell a difference whether its Stereo sound in a TV, or on a sound system. ![]()
